Tiny Ecosystem Since 1972. 80 Year Old Man's Sealed Bottle Garden Hasn't Been Watered since 1972. In an excellent case of a shut yet useful biological system, David Latimer has grown a nursery fixed inside a goliath glass bottle that he has just opened once since he began it very nearly 60 years prior. Latimer planted the terrarium garden on Easter Sunday in 1960. He put some fertilizer and a quarter half quart of water into a 10-gallon glass carboy and embedded a spiderwort grow, which isn't ordinarily an indoor plant, utilizing wires.
Tiny Ecosystem Since 1972, he opened the plant terrarium again to include a touch of water. With that one special case, the greenhouse has stayed fixed – all it needs is a lot of daylight!
